Utilizing Scout streamlines Candidate submissions, hires, and all communication with Search Firms. This guide shows Job Posting Owners, who do not have an ATS integration, how to create a Temp Job in Scout.
- Log-in to your Scout account.
- Click on the “Marketplace” tab at the top of the page.
- Click “Create Temp Staffing Job” in the top left corner.
- Complete the “Job Information” section, including: Req ID, Job Title, Rate Card Category, Job Description, Job Category, Number of Openings, Target Start Date, Target End Date, Exempt Status and Location details.
-
Confirm or edit the "Scout Listing Owner." If you have colleagues that could benefit from receiving notification updates for this Job, locate their name in the “Also send communications to” section.
(Tip: This is also a section to utilize should you go out of office and someone is covering for you.)
- Complete the “Fee Information" section. You will enter an hourly Bill Rate range along with the Max Markup percentage. You can select the "Open to Bid" option for the Bill Rate if you wish to allow Recruiters to submit Candidates with rates that differ from your specified range.
-
Fill out the "Listing Details" section including required fields marked with an asterisk. Although optional, we also highly advise filling in the additional fields to provide further context to improve the Recruiters sourcing efforts.
For the required "Must-Haves" field, you can click “Use Scout AI” to automatically pre-fill the field using insights from the Job description. For more information, please refer to Auto-Fill Job Listing Details with Scout AI. Note: To utilize this feature, Scout AI must be activated for your Company account.
- Once you have completed the Job Listing Details, you can do one of the following:
A. Post to Recruiters You Select
This allows you to control exactly who sees your Job. Your Company Admin can set an Exclusivity Period (typically 7–14 days) or select Indefinite Exclusivity to always remain with a select group of Recruiters.
You can select Recruiters from the following categories:
- Saved Sets: Groups of Recruiters you have previously created and saved for easy reuse.
- Preferred Providers: Recruiters that have an established preferred relationship with your Company.
- Scout Recommended: Recruiters identified by Scout AI as having a proven track record for this specific Job category.
B. Post to the Scout Marketplace
This publishes your Job to the general Scout Marketplace, allowing all eligible Recruiters to view the Job and submit Candidates.
C. Save as Draft
This saves your current work so you can return to and publish the Job at a later time.
Note: You can click “Save as Draft” at any point during this process to save your progress and return later to complete the Job listing. For instructions on accessing Draft Jobs, please refer to Saving and Accessing Your Draft Jobs.
